A report by the US Army Corps of Engineers has made it more likely that the access channels of Port Everglades will be deepened and widened.
The Chief of Engineers Report allows the project to be included in federal legislation expected in 2016 that will authorise similar water and navigation-related projects.
The Florida port’s project, which received congressional authorisation in 1996, will now finally move to the pre-construction engineering and design phase.
