The Port of Salalah is closer to fulfilling its expansion plans as a tender to select a consultant to design the third phase of the port’s expansion , has been submitted to Oman’s Ministry of Transport and Communications.
The tender highlights that the consultant will conduct a study on the third phase of expansion and will design the expansion programme. The tender documents will be distributed up to 6 August, while the tenders will be opened on 31 August.
The port has a 20-year master plan from 2011 to 2030 envisioning the establishment of the Salalah hub. The hub will include a railway connection and distribution centre, food reserve and processing centres among warehousing and other logistics facilities, and dedicated terminals for cruise tourism and liquid storage.
