Mayotte Channel Gateway, the operator of the Port of Longoni, has received a delivery of five Automotive Terminal Trailers (ATTs) and six power-pack hybrids from French manufacturer Gaussin Manugistique.
The ATTs will run on electric motors located in the wheels which provide a reduction in torque during start-up and collect kinetic energy generated by braking. The manufacturer estimates that this will result in an energy saving of close to 20%.
Mayotte Channel Gateway were appointed the sole terminal operator of the Port of Longoni on Mayotte island. which is near Madagascar but part of France, in 2013.
