Conductix-Wampfler wins Ecuador RTG weighing system order
An order for 12 LASSTEC twistlock load sensing container weighing safety systems for rubber tyred gantry (RTG) cranes, has been placed with Conductix-Wampfler by International Container Terminal Services Inc. (ICTSI) for its Contecon Guayaquil SA facility in Ecuador.
This is the second such order from Contecon, which initially purchased five similar systems for use on ship-to-shore (STS) cranes. The latest order places the port closer to complying with the International Maritime Organization’s (IMO) latest container weighing regulations.
The Conductix-Wampfler LASSTEC system uses patented fibre optic technology to accurately measure the force applied on each twistlock within the container spreader. The data is then transferred to the terminal operating system (TOS) for further analysis, storage, and operational decisions at the port.
