Kalmar increases profit and orders

Finnish container handling equipment manufacturer Kalmar, part of the Cargotec group, has increased its operating profit and orders.

Cargotec CEO Mika Vehviläinen put this down to Kalmar’s profit improvement programmes which were begun in 2013 and have now been completed ahead of schedule.

In the Cargotec half-year interim report, he said: “Efficiency improvement in [Kalmar and Hiab] continues, but the focus is shifting toward profitable growth.”
