China Shipping Container Lines (CSCL) has ordered eight 13,500 teu container ships from Shanghai Jiangnan Changxing Shipbuilding.
The cost of the ships is US$934m and they are scheduled to be delivered between April and December 2018 and put into use on the Asia-Europe trade lane.
CSCL is currently the world’s seventh biggest shipping line with a fleet capacity of 700,000 teu, according to Alphaliner.
