Kalmar has been awarded a major port equipment order of more than €25m (US$25m) from Sociedad Portuaria Regional de Buenaventura S.A. (SPRBun) as the operator gears up for growth at its operations in Terminal Especializado de Contenedores de Buenaventura S.A. (TECSA) in Buenaventura, Colombia.
The delivery, which includes 14 E-One2 rubber-tyred gantry cranes (RTGs) and six forklift trucks, is scheduled to be completed by April 2016. A long-standing customer of the equipment manufacturer, the new equipment will complement the operator’s existing fleet of 26 Kalmar Ottawa terminal tractors.
SPRBun has hinted at the possibility of adding Kalmar process automation in the future to help maximise productivity.
