Two new LNG bunker barge concepts to be developed

Jensen Maritime, a subsidiary of the US-based Crowley Maritime Corporation, has announced the development of two new liquefied natural gas (LNG) bunker barge concepts.

The new barges are expected to be a resource for those with LNG needs at ports far from a LNG terminal or as an alternative to over-the-road transportation.

The Seattle-based company’s first concept is outfitting an existing barge with an above-deck LNG tank, while the second one is for a purpose-built bunker barge.
