Five more Chinese ports have imposed restrictions on the handling of dangerous goods (DGs) following the blasts at the Port of Tianjin on 12 August, which killed at least 116 people.
A customer notice from Hong Kong-based Orient Overseas Container Line (OOCL) last Thursday (August 20) said that new regulations are in place at the ports of Qingdao, Lianyungang, Dalian, Fuzhou and Xiamen.
Since the blasts, all DGs cargo is forbidden to be loaded and discharged at Tianjin port, as is the container stuffing and unstuffing of DGs cargoes, although DGs in transit are exempted from this new rule.
