Crowley Maritime Corporation has selected the US software development company Tideworks Technology to implement terminal operating system (TOS) solutions at its container terminal network.
The company’s first facility to deploy the new TOS solutions will be its Port Everglades, Florida Terminal, where they are scheduled to go live in early 2016.
The project, which includes a multi-site software hosting agreement for up to six facilities within the terminal network, will enable Crowley to seamlessly exchange information with its trading partners and other enterprise systems through the use of Tideworks’ managed electronic data interchange (EDI) service.
Michael Schwank, president of Tideworks Technology, said: “We are confident that our turnkey solutions will help Crowley’s terminals to improve productivity and enhance customer service levels as they continue to experience increased traffic volumes.”
The terminal operator will utilize the software development company’s suite of solutions under a fully-hosted model, and the TOS infrastructure will be hosted and supported at Tideworks’ hardened data centre.
Among the terminal operating system solutions implemented there will be Tideworks’ Mainsail Vanguard core TOS, Spinnaker Planning Management System, Traffic Control, GateVision gate operating system, and Forecast web portal.
The software development company will provide all implementation services, as well as maintenance and support services post go-live, including 24/7 technical support and regular software upgrades.
Port Everglades in Florida ranked 111th in the CM’s 2015 World Top Container Ports, having handled 1.01m teu in 2014.
