Manila International Container Terminal (MICT) has begun implementing a vehicle appointment system in the Port of Manila, hoping to reduce the need for local government to implement truck bans.
Terminal Appointment Booking System (TABS), which officially launches next month, is an electronic platform for booking containers in the two international ports of Manila.
The system is being introduced to reduce the port’s contribution to congestion on the city’s roads, which led to the local government implementing a truck ban in 2014.
