Trelleborg takes over Maritime International

Trelleborg Offshore & Construction, part of the Sweden-based global engineering group Trelleborg, has announced that it has completed the acquisition of the US-based privately-owned manufacturer Maritime International, Inc.

Trelleborg, which has annual sales of about SEK 22bn (US$2.6bn) in 44 countries, said that it hopes the acquisition will strengthen its presence in berthing, docking and mooring in North America.

Richard Hepworth, president of Trelleborg’s marine systems operation, said: “We’re committing significant resources to our business in North America, having recently opened our new American headquarters in Berryville, Virginia.”
