The world’s biggest shipping line has announced that it aims to reduce its number of staff members by 4,000 by the end of 2017.
Currently the company has 23,000 land-based staff and said in a statement that it will aim to minimise redundancies, losing staff to retirement and resignation instead.
In 2016 and 2017, the company aims to lower the annual sales, general and administration cost by US$250m with an impact of US$150m in 2016.
