Maersk Container Industry’s new Chile factory delivers its first reefer containers
Reefer manufacturer Maersk Container Industry (MCI) has delivered its first set of ISO standard 40 ft Star Cool reefer containers, made at its new US$200m facility in San Antonio, Chile.
The reefers were delivered to Maersk Line and CMA CGM and the former has secured a fixed monthly volume from the MCI factory in order to respond faster to demand in the region.
Previously, China was the only country which produced reefer containers, according to MCI.
