Kalmar develops new fast charging solution
Finnish manufacturer Kalmar, part of Cargotec, has announced that it is developing what it claims is the industry’s first fast charging solution for electric powered shuttle and straddle carriers.
The company’s FastCharge, which is based on the same technology used in electric buses, can be applied to both manual and automated operations and is locally emission free.
The solution, which consists of electric powered shuttle or straddle carriers and fast charging stations, is currently being tested and verified and is planned to be brought to the market in 2016.
