Itapoa receives ZPMC cranes

The cranes were shipped from China

The Brazilian port of Itapoa has received two STS cranes and six RTGs from Chinese manufacturer ZPMC.

The STS cranes are 65 m long, 10 m more than the four ZPMC STS cranes which were already at the port, enabling the terminal to handle the bigger ships which have been arriving in South America due to the cascading effect.

This order had been planned since the port started operating in 2011 and was ratified at the end of 2013. The cranes took 10 months to manufacture and 42 days to ship from China to Brazil and are scheduled to be in operation before the end of January 2016.
