Liebherr Maritime Cranes has announced that it delivered the first model out of its new reachstacker series to the Port of Ravenna, Italy.
The new LRS 545, part of a reachstacker range which will be expanded in the long run, fulfils stage IV and tier 4 final legislative requirements by relying entirely on the company’s selective catalytic reduction (SCR) system.
The new model features a four cylinder, 230 kW diesel engine, which is expected to reduce fuel consumption and emissions.
The new reachstacker, which is designed for low maintenance and features intelligent maintenance planning as an option, offers remote access and remote technical assistance to analyse data and carry out troubleshooting via internet.
The unit, which has a wedge-shaped design, features a reduced front blind spot as well as an ergonomic cabin, heated windows, automatic climate control and a suspension system claimed to reduce noise and absorb shocks.
The new order follows the delivery of several Liebherr mobile harbour cranes to various terminals at the Port of Ravenna in the past few years.
