Damietta orders Kalmar RTGs

Damietta Container and Cargo Handling Company has ordered four rubber-tyred gantry cranes for its terminal in Damietta, Egypt.

The Kalmar E-One2 RTGs have been booked into the company’s fourth quarter order intake and will be delivered and operational some time in 2016, according to a statement.

Mika Virtanen, Kalmar’s vice president for RTG and ship-to shore cranes, said: “We are delighted to have gained this valuable order from a new RTG market for us. As terminal operators gear up for higher container throughput, our RTGs can deliver improved efficiency and cost reduction at various terminals around the globe.”
