Greece has received initial interest from Italy’s state railways and expects it from China COSCO for the planned privatisation of its railway operator Trainose, press agency Reuters has reported.
The chairman of Greece’s state privatisation agency reportedly said in an interview that the country already received initial interest from Ferrovie dello Stato SpA (FS) and expects COSCO, Russian railways (RZD) and Greece’s contractor GEK-Terna to express interest.
Stergios Pitsiorlas, chief of the Hellenic Republic Asset Development Fund (HRADF), told Greek television network Mega TV that the agency is expecting RZD and GEK-Terna to express interest either in a joint venture or independently.
