CMA CGM has recorded a US$72m loss in the first quarter of 2016 as its revenue fell by 15%.
The French giant, which recorded a US$435m profit in the first three months of 2015, announced that its revenue went down from US$4bn in the first quarter last year to US$3.4bn in the same period this year.
The company recorded a 2.9% increase in volumes to 3.2m teu in the first quarter of the year, as average revenue per teu fell by 18% year-on-year.
