Finnish manufacturer Konecranes has delivered four new reachstackers to Thai logistics provider Sri Trang Logistic’s new railway container terminal in Thung Song, Thailand.
The new units of equipment will be used at the logistics company’s new terminal as well as at its existing facilities at the Port of Kantang, Thailand.
The new SMV 4531 TC5 reach stackers, which were presented at the railway terminal’s official opening yesterday, are set to primarily assist with container lifting.
The new units are all equipped with Konecrenes’ in-house developed Truconnect system, which will remotely oversee the machines’ usage and maintenance.
Sri Trang Logistic, which has been operating its container facilities at Kantang for almost ten years, is involved in the production and transportation of high volumes of natural rubber.
The product is typically transported in baled sheets which are then containerised or as liquid latex in containerised tanks.
The company’s new railway facilities are located in the Nakhon Si Thammarat province, which is located in the southern part of Thailand.
The logistics provider said in a statement that one of the main criteria adopted to choose the equipment units’ supplier was “the service capabilities”.
