Modern Terminals to replace managing director

Hong Kong-based terminal operator Modern Terminals has announced that its current COO will succeed Sean Kelly as managing director of the company.

Kelly, who has been working at the company for the past 17 years, is set to step down at the end of 2016, with Peter Levesque starting as managing director at the beginning of 2017.

According to the company, a six-month transition period for the succession began in July this year.

Levesque has worked at Modern Terminals since February 2010, serving as CCO first and as COO most recently.

Before joining the terminal operator, Levesque held the position of senior vice president of CEVA Logistics for two years from 2008 to 2010.

His previous roles included being senior vice president of DHL International Supply Chain (ISC) from 2006 to 2008, co-founder and CEO of V-Logic Limited from 2000 to 2006, and managing director of American President Lines (APL) Logistics North Asia from 1996 to 2000.

Kelly, who also worked in APL prior to joining Modern Terminals, is the current chairman of both V-Logic and Modern Terminals’ Da Chan Bay Terminal One Limited, which operates container facilities in Shenzhen, China.
