The Port of Hamburg has reported a 1.2% loss in its container throughput in the first half of 2016.
Container volumes went down from 4.51m teu in the first six months of 2015 to 4.45m teu in the same period this year.
The port attributed the drop mainly to the downturn in transhipment services with Polish and Swedish ports, which handled calls from a larger number of direct container services.
