The new Priok Container Terminal I at the Indonesian Tanjung Priok Port has started operations a month after it was originally scheduled to open, local media reported.
The facility, which is the first terminal at the port’s new deep-sea harbour in North Jakarta, reportedly opened following clearance of the safety and security requirements issued by the Indonesian Ministry of Transportation in July.
The new US$320m terminal, which is able to handle one feeder ship and up to two new-Panamax vessels simultaneously, has an annual capacity of 1.5m teu.
