Strike shuts down Medcenter Gioia Tauro terminal
Workers at the Medcenter Container Terminal in Gioia Tauro have taken strike action against 442 threatened redundancies.
The strike, which has continued for days over grievances which go back months, is reported to have shut down the container terminal.
On 14 October, the unions representing workers announced that Contship Italia, the terminal’s operator, would re-evaluate the redundancies.
