The Oman government is planning to build an automated container terminal at Sohar Port with an annual capacity of 5m teu.
According to the Times of Oman, government authorities are waiting for internal approval, which will be coincide with the commercial discussion with the port operator.
The government will develop basic infrastructure for the proposed terminal (terminal D) while the superstructure will be built by the container terminal operator – Oman International Container Terminal (OITC).
