Two of the three berths to be built as part of Busan New Port’s Phase 2-4 are set to be dredged to 18 m rather than the previously planned 17 m.
The news follows the start last month of the applications’ submission process to begin reclamation works for stage 2-4 of the 25-year project, which is expected to be completed in 2020.
When completed, Busan New Port, which opened in 2006, will include a total of 45 berths, of which 40 for containers and 5 general, including 23 already completed as part of the project’s earlier phases.
