German shipping line Hapag-Lloyd has recorded a rise in net profit in the third quarter of 2016 as efforts to cut costs continue.
The carrier’s net profit was up from €3.2m (US$3.4m) in the three months ended on September 30, 2015, to €8.2m (US$8.8m) in the same period this year.
Volumes transported rose by 4.6% from 1.86m teu in the third quarter last year to 1.95m teu in the same period of 2016.
