Eurogate appoints new managing directors in Bremerhaven and Hamburg

Eurogate has chosen new managing directors for its container terminals in Bremerhaven and Hamburg following the retirement of Peter Zielinski, who has been managing director at its Hamburg facility since 1999.

Wolfgang Schiemann, current manging director of Eurogate Container Terminal Bremerhaven, will replace Zielinski, thus returning to the Elbe after 12 years away.

Replacing Schiemann will be present operations manager Manuela Drews, who begins her new role from January 1, 2017.

Zielinski previously worked for American container shipping line United States Lines and then spent several years at the helm at a container terminal in Fos, near Marseilles.

Schiemann held the post of operations manager at Eurogate Container Terminal Hamburg from 2000 until 2004 when he was appointed managing director at its sister-facility in Bremerhaven.

Drews has been operations manager and authorised representative at Eurogate Container Terminal Bremerhaven since April 2010.

She is also a customs agent and a member of the board of the Bremerhaven Port Tunnel Association.
