DP World has signed a memorandum of understanding with the Kazakhstan government for the development of a special economic zone in Aktau.
The terminal operator’s group and chairman, Sultan Ahmed bin Sulayem, has previously endorsed Kazakhstan’s potential in developing production and logistics facilities to take advantage of China’s One Belt, One Road strategy.
The Dubai-based company already holds a management advisory services contract with the Port of Aktau, Kazakhstan’s main cargo and bulk terminal on the Caspian Sea.
