The CEO of the Port of Marseille Fos, France, has called for a united approach to promote hinterland rail and waterways connections following her appointment as 2017 chair of the promotional body for Rhone-Saone river services Medlink Ports.
Speaking at her appointment ceremony, Christine Cabau Woehrel argued that efficiency as well as national and international visibility can be boosted by enhancing the partnership by offering “a multimodal palette” of logistics solutions with rail options.
Woehrel also called for the establishment of a consultative strategic body with state and regional authorities to produce a 2016 government report on the benefits and competitiveness of the Med-Rhone-Saone axis.
