India-based Adani Group’s port arm is reportedly looking to set up a new greenfield container port in Malaysia, according to local media.
Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone (Apsez) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Malaysia’s largest port operating group MMC Port Holdings to look into the construction of a multi-purpose container port at Carey Island, in Malaysia’s Selangor state.
The port, which would be located approximately 50 km southwest of the country’s capital Kuala Lumpur, would reportedly be an extension of the exiting Port Klang.
