The Port of New York/New Jersey’s Global Container Terminals (GCT) Bayonne terminal is set to receive two dual-cantilevered rail-mounted gantry (CRMG) cranes from Konecranes.
The new Boxporter units, which will be used for rail operations, will go into service at the facility’s new eight-track intermodal yard ExpressRail Port Jersey, also called Greenville Yard.
The CRMGs, which will span 47.5 m and feature twin lift capability, will help connecting rail imports and exports to the wider railway networks operated by US transportation companies CSX and Norfolk Southern.
