The Port of Cartagena’s Terminal de Contenedores de Cartagena (Contecar), Colombia, has received six new super post-Panamax gantry cranes manufactured by ZPMC.
The delivery of the new cranes marks the completion of the port’s investment project in its infrastructure, equipment and IT to prepare for the handling of larger ships following the opening of the expanded Panama Canal in June last year.
The new units, which weigh 1,460 tonnes each, are able to handle neo-Panamax ships with up to 14,000 containers.
