Red Sea Gateway Terminal completes US$70m expansion

Red Sea Gateway Terminal (RSGT) in Jeddah Islamic Port (JIP) has completed two parts of its expansion work, enabling it to handle three 14,000 teu vessels simultaneously.

The facility, which is Saudi Arabia’s largest import terminal, has increased its berth length by more than 25% from 1,070 m to 1,350 m.

Dredging of the turning basin has also finished, increasing its diameter to 750 m and allowing a vessel draught of 16.5 m.
