Maersk announces contingency plans for Spanish strikes
Maersk has announced contingency plans in light of the announced dock workers strike in Spain, which will affect the APM Terminals (APMT) facility in Algeciras among others.
Strikes will be carried out for 24 hours starting from 0800 on June 5, 7 and 9 and as a result will affect the MSC Ilona and SL Illinois which were due to arrive in Algeciras on June 5 and 6 respectively.
Both will now omit Algeciras and instead the MSC Ilona will discharge in Sines and the SL Illinois in Barcelona. Export cargo for the MSC Ilona will be rolled on to the next vessel.
