Abu Dhabi Ports and the Port of Fujairah have signed a 35 year concession agreement to develop, manage and operate Fujairah Port.
The organisations will establish a new operational arm “Fujairah Terminals”, fully owned by Abu Dhabi Ports. The port’s capacity is expected to reach 1m teu and 700,000 tonnes of general cargo by 2030.
The development of berths and yards will begin in 2018 while in 2021 extra capacity and new quay cranes will be added at the port which serves the Gulf, Indian subcontinent, the Red Sea and East Africa.
