Maersk has announced that new protective measures are in place following the cyber attack it suffered in late June.
The Danish company noted in a statement: “This virus attack was a previously unseen type of malware, and updates and patches applied to both the Windows systems and our antivirus were not an effective protection in this particular case.”
The company has said a forensic investigation into the virus attack is being conducted and a full recovery is underway.
