Bolloré Logistics has inaugurated its new multimodal hub on the Logistics Park of Pont de Normandie 2 (PLPN2) in Le Havre.
The new 24,000 sq m warehouse will be located near the multimodal terminal and its opening means Bolloré Logistics now has a total of 110,000 sq m of warehouses in Normandy, of which 39,000 sq m are in Le Havre.
Henri Le Gouis, CEO Europe of Bolloré Logistics, said that the new multimodal platform was intended to supply the Greater Paris region.
The company claims it is attempting to keep the hub as environmentally friendly as possible,with installations that enable CO2 control solutions, energy management, the preservation of water resources and the natural spaces of fauna and flora and the adaptation of means of transport.
Laurent Foloppe, director of the Normandy Region said: “Our platforms connected to all modes of transport – sea, air, road, rail, barges are designed to support the growth and sustainable development of our clients in the Port of Le Havre and the Normandy region.”
According to him, Bolloré’s logistics division benefits from its visibility on the three ports on the Seine trade – Le Havre, Rouen and Paris.
A company statement noted that the firm’s strategy is to invest in hubs by positioning itself on the world’s major trading hubs, Singapore, Dubai and Miami.
Bolloré Logistics has four branches in the Seine axis and runs a network of more than 700 employees.
