SSA Marine takes APMT’s lease in Tacoma
APM Terminals (APMT) Tacoma has transferred its lease to a joint venture between SSA Marine and Matson Lines, called SSAT.
APMT’s lease was valid until the end of 2017 but contractual language allowed the lease transfer.
The facility was primarily used by the Matson Alaska Service, with twice-weekly sailings between Tacoma, Anchorage and Kodiak, Alaska, and a weekly service between Tacoma and Dutch Harbor, Alaska, handling a combined 190,000 teu in 2016.
