Indonesian port operator Pelindo III has ordered five Konecranes-Gottwald mobile harbour cranes for its terminal at Tanjung Perak port in Surabaya.
The company has ordered three Model Fours and two Model Fives, all with rubber tyres, to handle containers, general cargo and bulk as required.
The cranes will be delivered to the Jamrud terminal in late summer of 2018 and will all have an external power feed so they can operate from the terminal’s grid.
The company already operates Konecranes equipment at several of its terminals including Semarang and other terminals in Surabaya.
Mike Green, regional director Asia-Pacific of Konecranes Port Solutions said: “We are very pleased that Pelindo III sees Konecranes technology as the backbone of their diversified fleet of cargo handling equipment. Konecranes Gottwald mobile harbour cranes, operated throughout Indonesia, have shown excellent productivity and reliability.”
The Model Five cranes will be able to lift up to 125 tonnes, with a maximum outreach of 51 m. The Model Fours will be able to lift up to 100 tonnes, with a maximum outreach of 46 m.
