A South Indian transhipment terminal has recorded growth of 11% in 2017.
DP World’s India Gateway Terminal had a throughput of 532,000 teu in the calendar year.
The company said that it had implemented a number of measures to improve the productivity of the terminal in Cochin.
These included a new digital portal which enables paperless transaction, offers a single window to customers and ensures digital exchange of data on a real-time basis.
The company also said it had improved the terminal’s hinterland connectivity, benefitting local importers and exporters from the surrounding states.
