CMA CGM will launch its first international start-up ‘incubator’ to help new companies develop in June 2018.
The French carrier stated that the creation of Ze Box is “to make digitalisation one of the pillars of its development”, and it will launch a call for applications shortly.
This development follows a series of digitalisation-focused projects which include; the appointment of chief digital officers, the creation of CMA CGM Ventures to invest in innovative technologies, and partnerships with technology companies such as Aix Marseille French Tech, Infosys and Alibaba.
In addition CMA CGM has also supported a start-up incubator based in Marseille’s northern districts, Le Carburateur.
Ze Box will be based in the Le Castel building in Marseilles, will cover a surface of 800 m2, and will be led by the previous head of entrepreneurship and innovation at Ecole Polytechnique, Matthieu Somekh.
