Cavotec powers Paraguayan cranes

Cavotec will provide the cable reel technology for two electric rubber-tyred gantry (RTG) cranes that Konecranes is sending to a Paraguayan river port later this year.

The cranes will be fitted with Cavotec motorised power cable reels to ensure a constant connection to a 1 kV power supply.

The ‘Boxhunter’ cranes will be used at the Villeta container terminal at Terport, a private port which is situated on the Paraguay River 12 km south of the country’s capital, Asunción.
