The UK government has blamed its Russian counterpart for the NotPetya cyber-attack in June 2017 that crippled Maersk and APM Terminals’ (APMT) operations.
The attack could cost Maersk up to US$300m, and the UK Foreign Office claimed the Russian military ‘almost certainly’ launched the virus-based attack.
The initial targets were said to be Ukrainian financial, energy and government sectors, but the virus spread to affect a number of global businesses.
