St. van den Brink BV has ordered four Kalmar T2 terminal tractors as it looks to shunt trailers along a 2 km route between the Ahold distribution centre and the Kuehne + Nagel distribution centre in Zaandam.
The order was booked in Cargotec’s Q1 2018 order intake with delivery scheduled to take place in the early part of Q3 2018.
The units will be equipped with Volvo Tier4F engines that meet the EU’s Stage 4 emissions standards as well as double fuel tanks to reduce operational downtime.
According to the Finnish manufacture, they feature “low overall running costs, a flexible and robust design, easy maintenance and a comfortable driving environment with excellent visibility.”
Sander Jansen, fleet manager at St. van den Brink, said: “The T2 terminal tractor’s efficient and low-emission power train was a natural choice given our commitment to being a responsible and sustainable business.
“The new vehicles offer excellent reliability and will be important in helping us to reduce turnaround times and increase our haulage volumes.”
St. van den Brink BV supplies customers across the Netherlands with a full range of transport services, including chilled and frozen as well as bulk goods transport.
