Liebherr launches purely electric port crane

Liebherr has launched the first purely electrical port crane, a new machine from its mobile harbour crane range.

For the new LPS 420 E unit, all crane movements such as luffing, hoisting, slewing and travelling are done by electric motors, while the planetary gear box offers low noise emissions.

As the crane is a member of the LHM series, it is also characterised by high modularity, noted a statement from the manufacturer, and the crane can be fitted with various types of fixed or telescopic spreaders.
