Taiwan’s TS Lines has purchased 1,000 PrimeLine container refrigeration units from Carrier Transicold as it looks to expand its capacity catering to the intra-Asia trade.
The carrier’s refrigerated capacity will increase by around 24%, with the units to be installed on a combination of 20 ft and 40 ft containers.
High cooling capacity and rapid pulldown are particularly important to TS Lines, noted a statement from the reefer manufacturer.
These facets enable the fast cooling of sensitive cargoes such as the tropical fruit durian, which produces large amounts of respiration heat and is often loaded hot.
The PrimeLine unit, which is equipped with a digital scroll compressor, offers energy efficiency, tight temperature control, high air-flow performance and a low cost of ownership according to Carrier.
