Busan Port Authority (BPA) has appointed Ki-chan Nam as its new CEO with immediate effect.
Nam, who has served as a member of the BPA commissioners, will aim to drive the Busan Newport Development, old port integration and Busan Old Port redevelopment project as scheduled.
He also stated that he will focus more on improving port efficiency and productivity based on the digitisation of logistics.
The new CEO is expected to push forward human-centred management internally and increase cooperative communication with relevant industries and organisations.
Nam graduated from the Korea Maritime & Ocean University and received a doctorate degree in engineering from the University of Wales.
He has been a professor of logistics systems engineering for more than 25 years at the Korea Maritime & Ocean University.
