Samskip has upgraded Nor Lines’ multi-purpose cargo and reefer short-sea services connecting North Sea and Baltic ports to Norway, in order to meet rising demand and increase capacity and frequency.
The company has expanded its capacity on the three-ship Nor Lines service between Baltic ports and Norway to four vessels, although the combined service will be split into two pairs of vessels.
Each vessel will be equipped with reefer/palletised and deck space and a 50 tonne heavily lift crane capacity.
Samskip aims to meet the rising demand for reefer and project cargo services southbound and increase capacity for conventional and project cargoes northbound along the Norwegian coast and beyond to Murmansk.
